Holiness for All (1)
God "chose us in him before the foundation of the world, so we should be holy and without blemish to his eyes in the charity, We have, in their free will, predestined to be His adopted children through Jesus Christ "(Ephésiens1 4-5). This is the starting point of what Vatican II calls for universal call to holiness. According to the eternal plans of God all men are called to be saints, that is to say, like him, to join him by the life of Christ, given for each of us. "This free call we received from the Lord paints a very clear objective: personal holiness, as St. Paul said emphatically. "Haec is voluntas Dei sanctificatio vestra "(1 Thessalonians 4, 3), the will of God, your sanctification. We have a fundamental truth that Scripture keeps saying: For God does not call us to impurity but to holiness "(1 Thessalonians 4, 7). It is important that it is drummed into us, because we tend to easily forget the ultimate goal of our existence on earth and we as captivated and mesmerized by hardware problems.
Holiness. This is the goal that God already assigned to the chosen people: "For me, Lord, I am your God and you shall hallow ye holy, for I am holy" (Leviticus 11, 44). It was not easy for people to do this while for us it is much easier, since Christ, in flesh, we opened the door and showed us how it is possible to holiness in ordinary life. "He is our peace, which of the two peoples was one and shot the wall that separated them, hostility. In his own flesh, it repealed the law of commandments with his decrees: he wanted to incorporate these two peoples to create one new man, thus establishing peace, and reconciliation with God Cross and combined into one body , bringing the hostility to death in his person "(Ephesians 2, 14-16).
