Be Light (1)
"As long as you have the Light, believe in the Light to become children of light "(John 12, 36). What is this light, if not that which it is written that "the true light that enlightens every man was coming into the world" (John 1: 9), that is to say Christ? It is proclaimed "light turns to the Gentiles" (Luke 2, 32). Whoever receives Jesus Christ becomes a child of light. He no longer works in darkness, he stands still in the dark. it is no longer in doubt. It's amazing the wealth of baptismal grace. "But you, brethren, are not in darkness for the Day Lord overtake you as a thief all, in fact, are the children of light and sons of day "(1 Thessalonians 5, 5). (read more ) "The night is far spent, the day is coming" (Romans 13, 12), "and the true light is already shining" (1 John 2, 8), which "shines in darkness "(John 1, 5). "So let there the works of darkness, let us put on the armor of light" (Romans 13, 12). Therefore reject evil and do good. Let us set aside occasions of sin and seek to positively act with fidelity to the promises our baptism. "Conduct ourselves with decency, as daylight" (Romans 13, 13). "Go therefore the armor of God for the days you can resist evil and, at the end of the action, remain standing" (Ephesians 6, 13).
We are born in sin, but we have been reborn in the baptismal water, reborn to new life, the life of grace, a life of union with God. "So get up! "(Ephesians 6, 14). "You were once in darkness but now you are light in the Lord. Behave in children light "(Ephesians 5, 8).
But "nobody, after lighting the lamp, covers it with a vessel or puts it under the bed, but they put it on the stand, so that those who have come to light" (Luke 8, 16 ). "That so your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven" (Matthew 5, 16). Not that they glorify you, but glorify God. For if we became a light, that grace was illuminated at our baptism, not by us but by a gift of God is not for ourselves but for others it illuminates. For our good deeds, make daylight, demonstrate our love for God and His presence among us.
