Beautiful as an air of rebellion, like a wind Freedom
" Public Letter # 2 - olive prison health
Letter olive from the Sante prison, 17/18 February 17/18 February 2011
These thoughts are those of someone frustrated at not being able, for the moment to express his anger in a limited way. Limited by walls, bars and guards. Limited by the relative inability to share this with others angry inmates. Limited by the impossibility to fully share this anger, this rage, this revolt with fellow travelers. Traveling companions, friendships forged and complicity, not by chance but by the chance encounter between individuals bearing common desires, a common will to fight it with all our might to free ourselves of any Trust and any authority.
A willingness and desire, far greater than can be any border, ideology Morbid a magistrate, the opportunism of every politician, the dirty state function. will and desires that occur most often without warning, without negotiation with those who have decided to dedicate their lives to coercion and repression of desires. Will and desires that do not satisfy any religion that no border can not be separated, no prison can not totally suppress, no goods could be replaced. Which no punishment can not deter us.
Capitalism and the State and require us to sell us lies. Among them, the lie that today nothing would remain outside of the goods and sadness, politics and his poverty, labor and its subjugation of money and its domination. Nothing, apart from forced smiles to erase the pain of operations and an imaginary paradise to console us for the privacy of joy. Nothing, apart from the national, ethnic or religious, and their common oppression of the individual.
Tunisia, Egypt, Algeria, Libya, Bahrain, Yemen ... The showcase of the world is cracking everywhere, under the blows of reality, a reality that shattered the ideology of "best of all possible worlds." France, England, Italy and many other parts of the world, the "advanced democracies" are struggling to realize their old dream of perpetual peace and submission social development.
This quickly turns into the raging social revolt, and spread of a city, region, country to another, is presented as an unprecedented, unprecedented in history, that would be of a particular phenomenon and temporary economic crisis. a crisis which of course must be completed at one time or another, taking with it the end of the troubles and the resumption of business, the return to order. Another lie.
course domination is centuries-old, she was able to adapt, evolve, withstand multiple movements of resistance and refusal, until reaching its present form. But this appearance of continuity could never forget that social peace is a fable, like yesterday and today, thousands and thousands of people are not resigned to their survival conditions are imposed, s 'rather hard to take their hands full life from the perspective of a radical liberation of human relationships.
As we have seen early this year when all mediations (wage concessions, political and union negotiations) lacking, there remains hardly a military deployment and a bloody crackdown to quell the revolt. But we have also seen that the ultimate solution was not sufficient to extinguish the fire for good, even if the "balance sheet" is very heavy for the insurgents.
Beyond that they can "get" these rebellions, that the small list of "achievements" presented by the media (political rights, any increases in wages, "the press release and elections), beyond This so-called "revolution" that would constitute a transition between dictatorship and democracy, we consider especially the content of the ongoing insurgency. His actions, his targets carefully chosen from among the institutions of power (prisons, political party headquarters, police stations, banks and businesses, various government buildings), the combined strength of its unpredictability (as opposed to mounting points as the ritual place Tahir al Cairo) and its violent determination, his ability to stop for a moment the normality of work, economy and resignation, and his ability to disseminate, encourage everyone, man or woman, to leave aside its role in society to throw himself with rage and joy in battle, his ability to spread a great breath of hope, and to shit in their pants powerful here and elsewhere, those who fear that the revolt goes any faster than the container of goods.
Obviously, the revolt in itself is not free of contradictions and limitations: you can often see groups of protesters and insurgents-only rights, women remain in the background, or n 'appearing as a peaceful and symbolic. One can also see national flags waved along the same symbols of the state are attacked. You can see some politicians and religious buffoons put all their opportunism of scavengers in their race for vacancies of power, knowing how to use the fighting to put pressure on the leaders in place, and openly condemn the revolt when the latter exceeds the door and dreams they would never hear about. You can see soldiers refusing to fire into the crowd - with too few moments - but tomorrow will assume without much doubt their mission while maintaining the new order more or less democratic. We can see several hundred inmates, who managed to get the trunk back to themselves in jail to call for the state.
Despite these limitations, the current uprising is not extinguished as a small fire straw. The prisons are starting to burn out in Libya (Tripoli and Benghazi) and no doubt the images of today inspire uprisings number of rabid, and will remain for some time in their minds, giving us courage and inspiration to turn our anger into action.
That leaves everyone-not to put a little, a lot, passionately, his, throwing gasoline on the fire and spit in the face of power
For the insurgency, for freedom
Olivier "
