Déjacque Joseph was born December 27, 1821 in the heart of the popular Paris in the Faubourg St. Antoine. Louis XVIII, brother of Louis XVI was beheaded in 1793, still governs the country for three years. Another of his brothers Charles X, succeeded him until 1830.

Early fatherless, Déjacque is studying Primary School Salisbury Street Lenoir (now Aligre), where his mother worked as a seamstress to come to pay his pension. Entered in 1834 at the age of 12 years as an apprentice in trade wallpapers in a factory in the Rue Lenoir, it becomes committed from 1839 to 1841 sales to a merchant's Boulevard des Capucines. Returning to civilian life in 1843, has always Déjacque salary as clerk in a store wallpaper and velvet, rue Louis-le-Grand . Often unemployed after his dismissal, Déjacque with 25 years in 1847, wrote his first poetry society. "
